How to add text to an image with effects

To get started, upload any JPG, PNG or WebP photo by clicking the upload area or dragging the file directly onto it. As soon as the image appears in the editor, the default text is centered and ready to edit.

In the controls panel, you set the text content, the font (Arial, Georgia, Impact, and others), size from 10 to 200px, bold, italic, color and opacity. The rotation control lets you spin the text from -180° to 180°, and letter spacing helps create more open or condensed titles. To move the text, just drag it directly on the image.

The effects section offers six options: Shadow with color, blur and offset controls; Outline with configurable color and thickness; 3D with depth and directional shadow color; Neon with an expanding glow around the text; Gradient with two custom colors applied horizontally; and Curve, which distributes the text along an arc with adjustable radius and angle, ideal for badges and circular logos. Select the desired effect and its parameters will appear right below.

When you're happy with the result, click "Download PNG" to save the final image. The file is generated directly in the browser, at the same resolution as the original image, with no upload to external servers.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens directly in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
Which image formats are accepted?
The tool accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and static GIF. Downloads are always in PNG to preserve quality and transparency.
How do I add 3D-effect text for Instagram posts or stories?
Select the "3D" effect in the effects panel and set the depth between 1 and 20px. For stories (1080×1920), use fonts above 60px and position the text in the bottom third so it doesn't cover the face. A 3D effect with a shadow color different from the main color creates more contrast on colorful backgrounds.
How do I use curved text to create logos or badges with text around them?
Turn on the "Curve" option and adjust the radius (smaller = more curved) and the position in degrees (0° = top, 180° = bottom). For circular badges, use a radius between 80 and 120px with the text centered on the image. Combine it with the outline effect for better legibility on varied backgrounds.
Which text effect is best for YouTube thumbnails?
For thumbnails, the "3D" and "Neon" effects are more legible on small screens. Use a bold font above 80px, white or yellow color with a 4–6px black shadow. A thin black outline effect (2–3px) also greatly improves readability at the 320×180px thumbnail size YouTube compresses down to.
How do I adjust text opacity without losing image quality?
The opacity control ranges from 10% to 100% and is rendered directly on the canvas, without degrading the original image. Opacity between 60–80% is ideal for subtle watermarks on photos, keeping the text legible without covering the main content.
Does the tool work on mobile devices?
Yes. The interface is responsive and works on smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android. On smaller screens, the controls panel appears below the canvas for better usability.
