How to use the PDF to Image Converter

To get started, drag a PDF file into the upload area or click it to open the file picker. The tool accepts any PDF with text or visual content — reports, presentations, contracts, catalogs, and scanned documents are all supported. As soon as the file loads, the number of pages is shown immediately.

Before converting, set the output format and resolution. The Format field offers PNG (ideal for documents with sharp text and transparency), JPG (better for photos and when file size is a priority), and WebP (a balance of quality and compression, suited for web use). The DPI field controls pixel density: use 72–96 DPI for on-screen viewing, 150 DPI for social media and presentations, and 300 DPI for printing or when you need maximum resolution.

Click Convert pages to start. A progress bar shows page-by-page progress, and previews appear in real time as each page renders. The process uses the PDF.js library in your browser — no data is sent to external servers at any step.

When it's done, each card shows an individual download button so you can download only the pages you need. If you want them all at once, the Download ZIP button becomes available after the full conversion and generates a single .zip file with all the images. To process another PDF, click New PDF to reset the tool.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files sent to any server?
No. All processing happens directly in your browser using the PDF.js library. Your files never leave your device.
What is the maximum supported PDF size?
There's no technical limit imposed by the tool. Large PDFs (over 50 MB or with many pages) may require more browser memory and take longer to render.
Which format and DPI should I use to print the converted pages?
For printing, use PNG at 300 DPI — it ensures maximum sharpness with no compression artifacts. For web use or emailing, JPEG at 150 DPI reduces the file size by up to 70% while keeping acceptable visual quality for screens.
How do I convert a PDF to image for Instagram or WhatsApp?
Select the JPG format and 150 DPI to get lightweight files compatible with social media. Instagram accepts images up to 8 MB and WhatsApp compresses automatically, so 150 DPI is already enough for good viewing quality on mobile.
Can I convert just one specific page of the PDF?
Yes. After converting, each page appears as an individual card with its own download button. Just download the pages you need — there's no need to download the full batch.
Does this tool work with password-protected PDFs?
PDFs with an opening password cannot be processed. In those cases, you'll need to decrypt the PDF first using another tool.
