Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
ImageTools (imagetools.com.br) is a website offering free online image editing tools, including a compressor, converter, resizer, color palette generator, and color extractor.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect site visitors' information, in compliance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD — Law No. 13.709/2018) and other applicable regulations.
2. Data we collect
We collect two types of information:
Automatically collected data — when you access the site, we automatically collect:
- IP address (anonymized)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on site
- Referral source (organic search, direct access, social media, etc.)
- Screen resolution and browser language
Data we do not collect — ImageTools does not collect:
- Name, email, or any personal identifying information (there is no sign-up)
- Images processed by the tools (see section 3)
- Payment data (the site is free)
3. Local file processing
All image tools (compressor, converter, resizer, color extractor, and palette generator) process files entirely in your browser. No image or file is sent to our servers or any external server.
Processing is performed locally on your device using native browser technologies, such as JavaScript's Canvas API and File API. This means:
- Your images never leave your device
- We do not store, access, or view the files you process
- The tools work even without an internet connection after the initial page load
- There is no risk of your files being accessed by third parties through our site
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to improve the browsing experience and show relevant ads. The cookies we use are:
Essential cookies — required for the site's basic functioning. They do not store identifiable personal data.
Analytics cookies — used by Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about how visitors use the site (most visited pages, session duration, traffic source). The data is aggregated and anonymous.
Advertising cookies — used by Google AdSense to show personalized ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized ads in Google's ad settings.
You can control and delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies may make the ads you see less relevant, but it does not affect how the site's tools work.
5. Google AdSense and advertising
ImageTools uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads based on prior visits to this and other sites.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads. Google's use of the DART cookie lets it show ads to visitors based on their visits to this and other sites on the internet.
For more information on how Google uses advertising data, see Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of the DART cookie by visiting Google's ad settings page. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
6. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site. Google Analytics collects information such as number of visitors, most visited pages, time on site, and traffic source.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of the site is transmitted to Google and stored on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to evaluate site usage and compile activity reports.
Data collected by Google Analytics is anonymized — the IP address is truncated before storage. To learn more, see Google's Privacy Policy.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
7. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share aggregated, anonymous data (such as total visitor counts) that does not identify any individual user.
The only third parties that receive data related to your visit are:
- Google Analytics — anonymous browsing data for traffic analysis
- Google AdSense — behavioral data to display relevant ads
- Cloudflare — hosting and CDN service that may log access data for security and performance purposes
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or a competent government authority.
8. Your rights (LGPD)
Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD — Law No. 13.709/2018), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request confirmation that we process your data and obtain a copy of it
- Correction — request correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data
- Deletion — request deletion of personal data processed based on your consent
- Portability — request that your data be transferred to another service provider
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw previously given consent at any time
- Objection — object to processing carried out under one of the legal bases that waive consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the email listed in section 11.
9. Minors
ImageTools is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child without parental or guardian consent, please contact us so we can take the necessary steps.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, the services offered, or legal requirements. The last-updated date will always be shown at the top of this page.
We recommend reviewing this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
