Remove EXIF Metadata
Erase GPS location, camera, date, and all metadata from JPG, PNG, and WEBP photos — all in your browser, with no files sent to any server.
What is EXIF data and why remove it?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is an international standard that digital cameras and smartphones use to automatically record technical information inside the image file at the moment of capture. This metadata is invisible in normal photo viewing, but anyone with access to the file can easily read it using free tools available online.
Information stored in EXIF metadata includes: device model and manufacturer, exact date and time of capture, technical camera settings (aperture, ISO, shutter speed), image resolution, and — the most sensitive data of all — the exact GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken. In photos taken with smartphones, this location can be accurate to within meters.
When sharing images on social media, marketplaces, forums, e-commerce sites, or even by email without first removing EXIF, you may inadvertently expose your home location, daily routine, or the devices you use. This represents a real privacy risk — especially for photos taken at home, at work, or in places you visit regularly.
Professional photographers and agencies also remove metadata before delivering or publishing images to protect client privacy, avoid exposing the equipment used, and eliminate any unwanted digital trace in the final delivered photos.
Our EXIF removal tool processes everything locally in your browser — no file is ever sent to external servers. The process is fast, free, and requires no sign-up. The result is a clean copy of the original image, with the same visual quality, completely free of embedded metadata. Ideal for anyone who wants to share photos safely and preserve their digital privacy.
